Description
Cocoa Butter (Theobroma cacao) is a natural vegetable fat that has a yellowy, cream color. It has the delicious scent of cocoa and aids in the healing of dry, rough skin.
It is extracted from cocoa beans during the process of separating the powder and liquor from the bean. This cocoa butter is processed to maintain its purity and natural properties.
Cocoa Butter is solid at room temperature. It can be used as it, but is most often mixed with oils, and other butters and waxes to make ointments, salves, lotions and creams.
Cocoa butter has a sweet smell of cocoa. It has a strong scent of bitter chocolate. Cocoa butter helps to add moisture to the skin and keep skin soft. It contains natural antioxidants which is very suitable for face creams.
To add to lotions or creams, the cocoa butter will have to be warmed gently until it melts. Use a high speed blender to incorporate it into your final product.
To use in soap making, use 1 tablespoon per pound.
Caution: Overheating this product will impact its fragrance. Please melt at as low a heat as possible while stirring gently, and use as soon as it is melted.
Cocoa butter will last 1 year when stored in a cool dry place.
