Description
Lemon balm is a sweet, lemony scented herb in the mint family. Its subtle flavor with mint and herb undertones makes it a popular tea. Numerous studies have shown many benefits to using lemon balm in ointments, oils and other skin applications.
Botanical name: Melissa officinalis
To prepare as a tea, pour 8 oz. boiling water over 1-2 teaspoons of herb. Cover and steep for 5-10 minutes, strain and serve immediately.
Safety: Not to be used during pregnancy or while nursing. Do not use if on thyroid medication.
