Description
Red Clover is good for treating skin making it a great addition to creams, lotions, and soaps. The flower can also be made into a cough syrup. The volatile oils in Red Clover are thought to have mild anti-inflammatory properties useful in treating eczema and other skin inflammations.
Botanical name: Trifolium pratense
To prepare as a tea, pour 8 oz. boiling water over 1-2 teaspoons of herb. Cover and steep for 5-10 minutes, strain and serve immediately.
Safety: Not to be used during pregnancy or while nursing. Red Clover should not be taken with Coumadin or other blood-thinning medication. Should not be used if estrogenic cancer if present.
